Several areas of Karachi received light to moderate rain early Monday morning, according to weather analyst Jawad Memon, with the temperature likely to drop in the metropolis.

The areas that received rain included North Nazimabad, North Karachi, Gulistan-e-Johar, Liaqatabad, and FB Area, the analyst said.

The central parts of the provincial capital also received rain. Meanwhile, Scheme 33 and the surrounding areas of the port city also received a brief spell of heavy rain.

The weatherman said drizzle and light rain lashed northern and central parts of the city due to low-level cloud formation under the influence of “western turf”.

The local Meteorological Department said on Sunday that the weather will remain cold in most districts of the northern Sindh province.

The Met Department forecast the possibility of fog in Sukkur, Khairpur, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Ghotki and the surrounding areas.

The plains of Sukkur division will remain under heavy fog for the next couple of days, it said advising the citizens to be careful.
