Barbie mania has spread across the country, leaving many theaters full with advance bookings.

According to Axios, the pretty doll is selling out, filling restaurants, bars and theaters as the film premieres on July 21.

Touted as the hottest movie of the summer, Barbie is raking in an impressive amount of cash through strong sales in San Antonio theaters.

“The Barbie buzz is hot,” Andrew Brooks, executive director of sales and marketing for Santikos, told the publication.

He added, “This film hits all sections of the audience.” “There really hasn’t been this craze since the big ‘Star Wars,’ where people want to dress well, they want to be a part of it.

The film, directed by Greta Gerwig, was marketed around the belief that fans lived in a Barbie world.

“Many agree that this is going to be the cultural event of the summer, if not the year,” said Lisa McKnight, global head of Mattel’s Barbie and doll portfolio.

“Barbie has never been more relevant,” he added.
